In this 1953 recording, Walter Gieseking (1895-1956) performs La Fille Aux Cheveux De Lin ("The Girl With the Flaxen Hair") from Book I of Debussy's Preludes for piano. I created this video from the LP shown above, "Walter Gieseking - Book One, Twelve Preludes," issued in 1953/54 on the Angel label, serial number 36066. (There are five other LPs in this same series, serial numbers 35026, 35065, 35249, 35250 and 35067, all issued on the Angel label) So that there is no question in the mind of the listener, I rely principally on images of and from the LP and LP jacket in order to document the authenticity of historically important recordings such as these.
