This track is from the LP, "Roger Williams Greatest Hits," produced in 1962 by Kapp Records, serial number KS-3260. Orchestra directed by Frank Hunter.
"September Song" was composed by Kurt Weill, with lyrics by Maxwell Anderson, and was introduced by Walter Huston in the 1938 Broadway musical "Knickerbocker Holiday," which enjoyed only moderate success and closed after six months. The song (which has been recorded by numerous singers and instrumentalists) was used in the 1950 film "September Affair," starring Joan Fontaine and Joseph Cotten, and the popularity of the film caused Huston's recording to hit the top of the 1950 hit parade.
